How can I tell if my muffin mix has gone bad?Updated 3 months ago
Our muffin cups are shelf-stable for a long time, but like any dry mix, they can lose freshness over time or if exposed to moisture. Here’s how to know if it’s past its prime.
Before cooking:
Check the “Best By” date printed on the cup or box.
If the cup has been stored somewhere warm or humid, double-check that the seal is still tight.
After cooking:
The muffin should rise evenly with a soft, cake-like texture.
A little surface moisture is normal right after cooking, but it shouldn’t look watery or grayish.
Storage reminder:
Keep your cups in a cool, dry pantry away from sunlight. Avoid refrigerating or freezing — the mix can absorb moisture and affect baking results.
