Why is my muffin too wet or undercooked?Updated 3 months ago

If your muffin comes out too wet or soupy, it usually means there was a little too much liquid added or your microwave might be on the weaker side.

Here’s how to fix it:

  1. Measure carefully.
Use a ¼ cup measuring cup for the water or milk instead of eyeballing the fill line. This creates the most consistent batter texture.

  2. Check your microwave strength.
If you already measured correctly and the muffin still seems wet, your microwave may have a lower wattage than ours.
Try adding 10–20 seconds of cook time.

  3. Check the texture before reheating.
Sometimes the top looks a little wet even though the rest is fully cooked. That’s completely normal and safe to eat.
If you keep cooking to dry the top completely, the rest of the muffin can turn dry or rubbery.

  4. Cooking at high altitude?
Believe it or not, altitude can affect how the batter cooks.
If you’re in a high-altitude area, reduce your liquid slightly and add 20–30 seconds of cook time.

With these small tweaks, your muffin should come out light, fluffy, and fully cooked from top to bottom.
